Alternative, garage-rock, indie band Scamps from St. Louis, Missouri, are back with a brand new single that’s sure to tug at your heartstrings.

Following the success of their second EP, LAVE, Scamps’ latest single showcases a slower, more mellow beat than their previous work. This change in pace highlights the band's versatility and their ability to explore different musical styles. But that’s not all – the single also brings a refreshing vulnerability to the band’s sound.

Lead vocalist Christian Djavaherian explains that the song is about the bitter-sweet end of a relationship, saying, “It’s about the double-edged sword of love. With happiness comes pain. More specifically, losing your sense of self after being so wrapped up in someone. This song is about rebuilding, and finding who you were before the chaos started.”

Djavaherian also shares a personal experience that inspired the lyrics, “I remember being at the tail-end of a relationship and it being so toxic that I would keep hanging out with the person even though I knew I was losing myself and the essence of who I am. It would bring out the worst side of me, but I would keep going back because it was what was easiest at the time and because it kept me temporarily ‘sane’. Hence the lyrics, ‘and you kept me sane, but you made me lose myself’.”

The lyrics are undoubtedly powerful and raw, but that's not all that makes "Backwash Kiss" such a standout single. The band's collaboration with producer Paul has resulted in a new production style that elevates their sound to new heights. Djavaherian expresses the band's excitement about working with Paul, saying, "The ambiance and reverb-heavy guitars were sculpted by our new producer, Paul. We really enjoy working with him and are excited to see how the public receives this song."

Scamps is a youthful and dynamic indie rock band that's been making waves in the music world. Comprised of Christian, Jude, Ross, and Brendan, their unique blend of playful beats and youthful energy has captured the essence of indie rock. With a style that's been described as "relaxingly intoxicating," Scamps' music is both catchy and memorable.

Scamps' latest single "Backwash Kiss" is a must-listen for fans of the band and anyone looking for some refreshingly vulnerable indie rock. The song showcases the band's versatility and musical exploration, while also bringing powerful lyrics and a new production style that elevates their sound. We can't wait to see what Scamps has in store for us next!
