Melt at The Portland State Theater

Melt- a growing band that took the Portland State Theatre stage by storm. The 7-member band brought the energy and kept the crowd on their toes with a mix of jazz, pop, indie rock, and funk. With powerful vocals, fresh and dynamic instrumentals, and an energetic stage presence; if there were any first-time listeners in the crowd, they surely walked out that night with a new favorite band.
From the start of the show, the crowd’s energy was already electric. Soul-warming vocals, a venue singing along without missing a beat, and an intoxicating amount of euphoria flooded the Portland State Theatre. The band’s first single “Sour Candy”, which reached #5 on Billboard’s US Viral 50 Chart, came out in 2017 while the founders of the band, Veronica Stewart-Frommer, Shankweiler, and Eric Gabriel were just 18. Not only is the band incredible but their growth is inspiring. Vocals from Veronica Stewart-Frommer were unmatched while the band’s synergy was truly one of a kind.
This performance truly blew me away, and, from the sound of it, I know the crowd from that night and I, are ready for whatever comes next from Melt.
